In a typical Level Counting installation occupancy status is monitored by ultrasonic sensors installed at garage and level entry/exit points. These sensors detect vehicles entry/exit through ultrasonic directional measurements. If a vehicle enter/exits a garage/level this information is transmitted to the area controller. Space availability status is displayed on parking guidance signage controlled by the PGS server, or in small installations by the area controller.
